The Power of Turmeric

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

Little is known about this safe, non-irritant, and completely natural spice, but Turmeric contains an unusually high level of Curcumin, the active ingredient and antioxidant that contains many ant-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects such as pain relief, arthritic swelling, and tissue inflammation. Turmeric also supports liver function, healthy brain physiology, cardiovascular health, and integumentary wound healing.

But how can we consume Turmeric? There are many ways – Curry – Soup – Rice – Yoghurt – Salad Dressing – Smoothies – Tea!
Here’s an easy Turmeric Tea recipe you can make right at home:
• 1-2 cups of water
• 1-3 teaspoons turmeric
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
• Pinch of fresh ground black pepper
• Pinch of clove
• Pinch of nutmeg
• Honey to sweeten
• Milk of your choice
Step 1: Simmer the water and herbs together for 10 minutes
Step 2: Strain out and add honey and milk to your taste
Enjoy!
